Prior to going to law school, Alleen volunteered at Neighborhood Legal Services of Los Angeles, particularly with the San Fernando Court’s Self-Help Center, helping indigent litigants navigate their family law and/or civil matters, providing them with information regarding the law, court procedure, and providing litigants with information about domestic violence.
Since law school, Alleen has been working as an associate attorney in a Los Angeles family law firm, and has volunteered at the Harriett Buhai Center For Family Law. In 2018, Alleen received a Five Years of Service Award from the Harriett Buhai Center for Family Law. Since 2016, Alleen has been a trainer in the Harriett Buhai New Volunteers Training Program, teaching attorneys and paralegals about California family law.
Alleen has experience in mediating, negotiating, and litigating all areas of family law, including child custody and visitation, child support, spousal support, high asset property division, domestic violence, and pre-marital and post-marital agreements. Alleen has been involved in a variety of family law hearings, long cause trials, domestic violence proceedings, ex parte hearings and procedural hearings. Alleen has successfully negotiated numerous family law agreements – from stipulations to settlement agreements and judgments. In addition to her legal skills and experience, Alleen is an effective communicator with clients, counsel and judicial officers. She promptly determines the client’s objectives, anticipates their needs, deciphers their legal issues, manages expectations and creates a goal-oriented strategy with and for the client.
